14 Funky Fly Fresh Accessories For Friday

SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM

It’s Aloha Day (R.I.P. IZ) at work today, and we were treated to our usual Free Breakfast Friday. But I have a bone to pick: Were this an authentic Aloha Day, the break room would have been filled with the sweet sweet smells of grilled Spam, sticky rice and ketchup, rather than the usual aroma of Hot Pockets and Activia. Oh well. In spite of this cultural faux pas, we still added a whopping 14 new accessories onto AutoAnything.com. Sneak a peak:

Rhino Rack Ski & Snowboard Rack

  • Feature: These roof ski & snowboard racks from Rhino Rack carry up to six pairs of skis or 4 snowboards.
  • Benefit: If you always drive around with your Burton, you’ll have at least some justification for continuing to wear that fleece jester cap, even though your friends and coworkers really know that you’re just a raging Phish-head.

Rhino Boat Loader

  • Feature: Rhino Racks boat loader automatically loads and unloads a boat onto your roof rack.
  • Benefit: Makes boat thievery a lot gentler on your hernia.

Rhino-Rack Side Boat Loader

Rhino-Rack Cargo Bag

  • Benefit: Strikes terror in your children after you threaten to stuff the next one who screams into the time-out roof cargo bag.

Softride Top Tube Bike Frame AdapterUnlike more common cosmetic enhancements, adding a top tube won’t clear up your wrinkles, inhibit you from showing emotion or drain your wallet. But, using one of these Softride bike rack accessories changes its look and functionality all for less than $30—no risks involved.

Wrockit Wrench Open-End Ratchet WrenchesOr, as Scooby-Doo would call them, Wrockit Wrench Ropen-Rend Ratchet Wrenches. These ingenious tools combine the rapid-tightening of a ratchet with the convenience of a wrench. A geneticist would call it a chimera.

Clingo Universal Hands Free PodiumThe difference that separates the Clingo hands free podium from most lecture podiums is that this one doesn’t tend to result in sweaty palms, cracking voices and a roomful of people being pictured in their underwear. But seriously, folks. These deluxe mobile electronics holders are the perfect addition to your assortment of desktop distractions.

Clingo Parabolic Sound SphereEven if geometry was never your strong point, you’re sure to appreciate how Clingo uses parabolas and spheres to create this stylish sound system. It’s both a natural amplifier for your iPhone, iPod or other portable MP3 player, and it’s a helmet in a pinch.

Clingo Universal Car Vent MountYour vents could be spewing out the coldest of air, but your new vent-mounted Clingo mobile electronics holder is still going to look hot in your ride.

Gorilla Net Cargo NetJust as Tarzan’s jungle canopy provides security for the creatures of the rainforest, the Gorilla Net Cargo Net provides security for the contents of your truck bed. The only way to keep your stuff more secure than with these cargo nets & tie-downs would be if you trained an actual gorilla to lay in your truck bed and hold everything down with her heft.

Tripledge Wiper BladesThese Tripledge wipers are so thorough, even Prince Akeem Joffer would be impressed.

Tripledge Wiper Blades

Tripledge Green Wiper BladesThese are the first windshield wipers deemed safe for septic tanks, plastic pipes and municipal water systems. We’re talking greener-then-Woody-Harrelson’s-cigarettes green, and that’s mighty green, baby. Thanks, Tripledge.

Armor All Ultra Flex Wiper Blades

Armor All Premium Wiper BladesJust like “extreme” and “supreme;” adding “premium” to a product name gives it the nebulous distinction of being better. But, these Armor All wiper blades are pretty premium—they leave a thin film of water-repellent goo on your windshield, so water beads up and wipes away easier.

Armor All Premium Wiper Blades

Armor All Ultra Flex Wiper BladesYou can juice up, shave your armpits, get a spray tan, apply a glistening sheen of posing oil and flex like Lou Ferrigno. But, it won’t clear your windshield like these travel accessories from Armor All. They’re curved like a banana, which keeps them pressed against your windshield for more powerful wipes.

AEM Replacement Air Intake FilterMom was right: generic-brand dextro is just as good as Robitussin in purple drank, and AEM replacement air intake filters are just as effective as K&N air filters in air intake systems.

7 New Ways to Keep Your Garage and Tools Organized

Sloppy Garage

Everyone has one: a kitchen drawer crammed full of junk that you just can’t bring yourself to chuck. Mine’s brimming with rubber bands, old batteries, mysterious keys, matchbox cars, expired coupons, dusty nunchucks and questionable aspirin. But at least it’s manageable. What isn’t manageable, though, is when your garage starts to resemble that same kitchen drawer but on a larger scale. When your sockets, wrenches and screwdrivers are spread around helter-skelter, it’s practically impossible to work through any project.

Well, we’re here with some good news. We’ve added a great new selection from Excel tools to help bring some sanity back to your garage. Not only are these garage tool boxes built strong, but they’re also available in a wide range of sizes and styles. Check it out:

Excel Tool CabinetsA rolling tool chest forms the foundation for building up a serious toolbox system that would make any mechanic proud. They range from smaller 3-drawer tool chests all the way up to gargantuan 6-drawer chests with built-in cabinets.

Excel Tool Chests—Bench top toolboxes are perfectly sized to stack on top of your rooling tool chest or sit right on your workbench. They’re ideal for expanding your chest’s carrying capacity or work great by themselves. And, they’re available in everything from 2-drawer to 6-drawer sizes.

Excel Tool CartsTool cars are the natural companion for your rolling tool chest or bench top toolbox. Simply load it up with the tools you need for the job, and you’ll always have what you need on hand when you need it. Plus, when you’re done, you can easily put everything back where it belongs instead of leaving little piles of wrenches strewn around your garage.

Excel Cantilever Tool BoxGot lots of small tools and gear that needs to stay organized? A cantilever toolbox is the way to go. They’re equipped with a bunch of individual bins that fold open and close like an accordion, keeping your monkey wrenches fully segregated from your pipe wrenches.

Excel Portable Tool BoxIf you ever have to take your tools on the go, we recommend one of these portable toolboxes. However, if you have a Goth child, we don’t recommend one of these—your son is likely to litter it up with Ministry and Emily stickers and use it as a purse.

Excel Portable Tool ChestThese portable toolboxes are just like the other portable toolboxes, but they have drawers instead of removable trays. The same precautions should be taken if your kid wears fishnet pants and black nail polish.

Dee Zee Plastic Tool BoxMetal toolboxes not your cup of tea? This utility toolbox from Dee Zee is built from lightweight polymer and gives you a wide open space to store everything that’s too bulky to fit in your tool chest (e.g. that jackhammer you don’t want your wife to know you bought). And, these garage toolboxes have built-in cup holders, so you won’t accidentally kick over your brew and muck up the new alternator you started to install.

Dee Zee Rubber Mud FlapsIf these mud flaps don’t seem like they’d help organize your garage, it’s because they won’t. However, they will step the look of your rig up a few notches and protect your rear quarter-panels from slosh spray and kicked-up gravel. Also available as dually mud flaps.

Now, AutoAnything isn’t exactly a player in the plastic surgery business. But, this week’s new product launch definitely made us an even bigger cheese in the world of automotive augmentation. Snip snip.

fey-by-westin-sure-step-bumper

  • FEY SureStep Bumper – Suck a rock, Seger—the only thing standing arrow-straight ‘round these parts is the FEY SureStep.
  • FEY DiamondStep Bumper – Look closely at the opening of Breakfast at Tiffany’s and you’ll see that Holly Golightly is actually eyeballing a FEY DiamondStep in the window of Tiffany’s.

That’s what I’ve got for now, check back later for your standard Friday-afternoon time killer.

PS: We also have a 10% off sale, check the site for details!

Jeep Accessories & Mobile Electronics, Plus New Garage, Travel, Tailgating, Tire & Wheel Accessories – An AutoAnything Weekly Update

Under Construction

It’s true. Big changes don’t just come after getting your fortune read by an unplugged Zoltar Speaks machine. Case in point: AutoAnything’s Accessory Aisle section underwent some hefty construction last night, resulting in a new, improved way to shop, here’s what happened:

New Departments

  • Mobile Electronics: The high-tech home to everything from power adapters to backup sensors and cameras.
  • Tire & Wheel Accessories: Everything you’d ever need for your wheels and tires (save for aftermarket wheels or new tires…for now).
  • Winter Driving Accessories: Here’s where you’ll find snow plows, snow shades, snow chains, snow men, Snow Patrol, and the latest Macintosh operating system, Snow Leopard.

Improved Departments

  • Garage Accessories: Updated with new categories and a new piece of carpet positioned under your Dodge’s leaky oil pan.
  • Tailgating Accessories: Remember the Automotive Gear department? This is now that, only trimmed down to showcase the stuff you’d use to party in a parking lot.
  • Travel Accessories: Dead is the Driving Accessories department and its hodgepodge of automotive bric-a-brac. From its ashes rises Travel Accessories (now with approximately 43% less bric-a-brac).

Oh, and we also launched some new products for good measure:

  • Clean Tools Ultimate Car Cleaning Kit – Since that orbital power-waxer and rolling cooler/stool combo don’t quite define you as a clean-car guy, there’s this, the Ultimate Car Cleaning Kit from Clean Tools.
  • Clean Tools Ultimate Detailing Kit – If Obsessive Auto Detailing were a spectator sport, this would be akin to pro swimming’s Arena X-Glide.
  • Clean Tools Ultimate Car Wash Kit – If you wash your car like a mysophobe washes his hands, this is the kit for you.
  • Clean Tools Absorber Synthetic Chamois – You know, there always seems to be a time and place for synthetic leather. And this little guy puts more shame on  ShamWow than Vince Shlomi.
  • AlphaTherm Windshield Washer Heater – Writing your name in the snow was never this much fun.
  • Rampage Jeep Seat Covers – Rampage: it’s not just a classic arcade game or a side effect of the HGH you’ve been injecting between your toes. It’s also a company that makes stuff for your Jeep, like this new set of seat covers we launched.  Also comes with a matching steering wheel cover because, as Rampage’s demographic studies indicate, people with messy bottoms often have cruddy hands, too.
  • Smittybilt Nerf Steps – Dress your vehicle to the nines with the style and strength of these tough new steps.
  • Smittybilt Sure-Step Nerf Steps – Unlike those other slippery nerf steps, these ones give you a firm stepping point.

A slew of new Jeep items came in from Rugged Ridge:

  • Jeep Air Intake System – Power-up your Jeep’s lungs with this oxygen-sucking system.
  • Jeep Throttle Body Spacers – If your Jeep needs some space, it doesn’t mean you need to start packing your bags. Just pick up one of these.
  • HID Off-Road Lights – Because driving in the dark never works out very well. Light up your trails with the power of HID lights.
  • Jeep Exhaust Headers – Built for both extreme and Xtreme conditions, these headers take on your toughest challenges.
  • Jeep Exhaust System – Adds style and tone to the back of your Jeep with its dual-tip design and cat-back goodness.

That’s it for this weekly installment, check back later for some slacker-friday fun.

Never Underestimate the Insanity of Some People -or- How to Use a Pick Axe

Pick-axes stick in a car of a Bulgarian businessman in Burgas.  Local authorities are looking into the possibility that the vandalism could be an act of revenge against the businessman, who is a contractor in Burgas.

Yikes!
