Protect Your Truck Upholstery With Weathertech Floor Mats

We wanted to share a few reviews with you from some of our happy Weathertech floor mats customers.  Here’s what they’re saying:

Reviewed by David M (Round Rock, TX) 2005 Ford F-150 — Aug 30, 2005 7:09 AM
“These are heavy-duty, thick, and durable floor liners. I’ll never buy a “mat” again, a “liner” is much better since it covers the majority of the carpet and is molded to fit your vehicle. The bottom of the mat is smooth (I would prefer some non-slip texture). Other than that, it’s perfect!”

Reviewed by William O (Lafayette, NJ) 2005 — Aug 30, 2005 9:43 AM
“The Weathertech floor liners are exactly as advertised. They are well constructed and fit my vehicle perfectly. I was concerned about the color match but was pleasently suprised that they matched very well.”

Reviewed by douglas u (New Port Richey, FL) 2002 — Oct 22, 2005 12:33 PM
“The fit and appearance are very nice; the WeatherTech emblem is classy. Only suggestion for future improvements is to extend the back lip, for when my seat is fully extended backward, my foot rests on top of the back ream lip. How much water will these things hold; I bet alot.”

Are you there, Flying Spaghetti Monster? It’s me, New Accessories.

There comes a time in every new accessory’s life when it blossoms from Not on AutoAnything to on AutoAnything. It might be a little scary at first for the new accessory. It suddenly has words where there weren’t words before. Its itty-bitty schematic images have ballooned into full-sized heroes. And, it starts daydreaming about what it would be like being sold to a dapper gent in Tallahassee. This crop of 11 accessories went through the change, and they’re all ready for action.

Decisions: Have you thought this through?

Lets face it; there are many choices in this world and sometimes they aren’t always easy to make. But fortunately, there are a few resources at hand to simplify our decisions so we can get on with our lives. We’re working on a few things to make shopping for auto accessories easier, but I thought this might be a good time to revisit an old classic; customer reviews.  So lets look at a few fan favorites from our floor mats department.

Weathertech floor mats are a tried and true design made from a premium rubber compound.  We have 1302 reviews, scoring a solid 4.75 / 5 stars for appearance, ease of installation, price, value and quality.

Weathertech Extreme Duty floor mats are a more rugged version of the OG mats.  Made from harder plastic with taller side walls, these rubber mats will do a fine job of controlling spills. And out of 1985 reviews, these mats score an average of 4.25 stars.

Husky Liners are bringing in big numbers in the review arena; you can read 5652 reviews on our site, all with an average rating of 4.87 / 5.  An extra-tall side wall and bulletproof plastic rubber make these liners perfect for any workhorse vehicle.

Husky Weatherbeater floor mats offer a more refined look than their liners, but still boast the same solid construction and custom fit. After 526 customer reviews, we can see they also score an average of 4.87 / 5 stars.

Clearly all of them are winners, but only you can decide which set of car mats has the right style, fit and price for you.

Today’s a special day that only comes once every 4 years—it’s the closing ceremonies of yet another Winter Olympics. Finally, NBC will get back to airing stuff worth airing, and your neighbor will stop droning on and on about the intricacies of the Nordic combined and get back to droning on and on about The DHARMA Initiative.

To celebrate, we added some new product to the site. Check it out:

Pewag Cable Tire ChainsTrust us—bedazzling your tires with rhinestones is not going to give you all-weather traction like these snow chains. Conversely, strewing Pewag chain links across the back of your Canadian tuxedo is not going to score you any girl’s digits at the next flapjack social.

Pewag V-Trac Cable Tire Chains—Say goodbye to skid marks. V-Trac tire chains keep your sled fleet footed when Old Man Winter dumps his powdery load on your neck of the woods. Plus, these Pewag Glacier chains have a built-in rubber tensioner that keeps them snug against your tires.

Intro-Tech Designer Floor MatOh man, those designer mats by IntroTech Automotive make your rizz-ump look great, and their double-tufted heel pad protects against excessive wizz-air and tizz-air. What’s more, these haute couture carpet floor mats fit your floorboards to a tizz-e.

Anzo USA LED Truck Bed Lights—Cargo doesn’t like to admit it, but it’s scared of the dark. Cut it some slack already. These universal truck bed lights from Anzo USA are like high-powered nightlights for your truck’s bed.

Anzo USA Stealth Vision LED Fog Lights—Stealth vision: the next best thing to x-ray vision (and way more reliable than those x-ray specs you bought from the back of your Boy’s Life). In fact, these LED fog lights are so powerful, you might be able to convert them into grow lights.

Anzo USA Rugged Vision LED Off Road Lights—If your spouse has a hard time waking up in the morning, shine one of these Anzo off road lights in his/her face…that ought to do the trick.

Rancho My Ride Wireless Controller—Unlike social networking giant MyFace, the Rancho MyRide does something useful. This wireless shock controller gives you the ability to make on-the-fly adjustments to the stiffness of your Rancho shocks; it doesn’t provide a platform for self-absorbed chatter masquerading as communication.

Top 5 Performance Products – AutoAnything Weekly Product Review

We’ve been keeping you up to date about all the new products we’ve been adding, but we thought it would be a good idea to list out the top five performance products that will give you the most bang-for-your-buck.  Whether you’re purchasing for yourself or your just doing some holiday shopping, these five products will be sure to put a smile on someones face.

Air Intake Systems

There are many different types of air intakes available, anything from air filters to throttle body spacers to forced-induction kits.  The most common type of air intake is the cold air intake, which intakes air from outside the engine bay to feed into the air-fuel mixture.  The colder air is more dense, which results in more combustibility and power.  The Volant cold air intake is the perfect combination of form and function, adding up to 18 horsepower and 40 ft-lbs of torque while always looking good under the hood.

Exhaust Systems

Putting exhaust on your vehicle not only improves performance, but it gives you enough presence on the road so that everyone will know you’re not rocking a stock vehicle.  Magnaflow exhaust systems are some of the most popular exhaust kits in the world.  Highly engineered for improved flow dynamics, mandrel bent for superior fitment and manufactured from quality steel, every Magnaflow exhaust will plaster a grin on your face for years to come.

Performance Chips

Another great way to improve horsepower and torque is with a performance chip.  Every power programmer works by tuning your factory ECU to adjust the air/fuel ration into a more combustible mixture.  On turbo engines, these tuners can even increase boost levels, resulting in even greater performance gains.  A common side effect of power programmers is an improvement in fuel economy.  This is due to the engine making more power, which means you need to use less gas to accelerate and maintain speed.

The Superchips Cortex is a popular power programmer that offers three levels of tuning so you can choose the level of performance you want.  The Superchips Cortex programmer also lets you calibrate your speedometer to reflect  gear changes and bigger tire sizes.  Installs in minutes, but you’ll notice the benefits after just a few seconds.

Truck Air Filters

Trucks have big engines, which means they need a lot of air.  Using a standard paper filter can constrict your engine by not letting it breathe.  A performance air filter improves your engines air intake, giving you more horsepower and torque for when you need it most.  K & N sets the bar for high performance air filters because of their superior filtration, dyno-proven horsepower gains and their 1,000,000 mile warranty.

Floor Mats

You may be asking yourself, “What makes a floor mat a performance part?”  Well when you’re working on your vehicle installing new auto parts or changing your oil, you’ll need a floor mat that can stand up to what is on the bottom of your shoes.  High performance all-weather floor mats will save your carpets from dust, dirt, grease, grime, mud and snow.  Husky Liners is a very popular choice due to their rugged construction and lifetime warranty.  Husky floor liners are custom-molded from a unique blend of rubbers to make them ultra-tough.  The tall rim around the perimeter of the floor liner ensures that no liquid will find its way into you auto’s carpet.

BMW 335i Gets Foiled – AutoAnything

A German BMW owner over at e90Post.com got tired of how bland his black 335i was. Rather than taking it to an auto body shop for an expensive repaint, he decided to use a technique that the German military employs when camouflaging it’s heavy equipment: it’s called “foiling” and it involves carefully applying a 3M adhesive tape to the surface of the vehicle. The tape is thick enough to protect the paint from getting light knick’s and scratches, but it “is highly recommended that it be removed after 3-4 years”. Why? The post at e90Post.com doesn’t really say, but I’d venture to guess that the tape degrades after that and can be difficult to completely remove, OR it’ll bond to the surface and can then never be removed. Either way, the shiny tape dramatically changes the look of the vehicle and really opens up the doors to exterior customization! Check out the picks below during the foiling process!

Find even more wild pics of foiled cars at Intax.com -> Gallery 1 – Normal Cars, Gallery 2 – Wild Paint Jobs, & Gallery 3 – Motorsports

Do you want to customize your ride, but don’t want to go to the trouble of foiling your whole car?  Consider looking at some car floor mats, an aftermarket backup camera system or even wood dash kits.

Review on Rubber Floor Mats After Our Spring Break Vacation

To save the pristine interior from all of the abuse that my nieces and nephews can create. During our extended road trips, I made the decision to get some interior liners and will be writing about what I liked and didn’t like about what I got.

So to help paint a realistic picture here, I first need to describe the absolute reckless and careless nature of my brother’s children. He’s a great parent, but perhaps a bit mellow on the discipline end of things. One example that first pops in my mind is of a road trip to Palm Springs that we made in my Chevy Camaro last spring break.

We were all very excited because this is a yearly trip that we have been making since being children, but when I pulled up at my brother’s house, out came the destructive rats from their house and in they came through the passenger window. That’s right, they had jumped through the passenger window just like they saw the actors do on Dukes of Hazzard. Their muddy feet went all over my Sheepskin seat covers! I couldn’t believe it.

So the first attempt that I made to clean up any further messes was to make sure they stayed buckled up. This was important for their safety as well as for the preservation of my sweet Camaro. Needless to say, the seat belts kept them buckled up but their arms and feet were still flying all over the place while I was driving. I’ve never seen a brother and sister fight and play as much as these two do. One second they hate each other, and the next second they are best friends.

Luck would have it….I remembered that I received a great gift from my father for Christmas. He sent me some car mats for the trip because we had several outdoor activities planned including hiking, swimming, etc., and the mats were still in my trunk.. So I promptly pulled over at the next exit which happened to be in the lovely town of Fontana. What a place! I’ll write more about the Stangs and Chevelles that I saw out there during our brief stay. They also have a great race track there.

The mats were a total success. They were rubber mats and covered the entire flooring of my Camaro! So all I had to do was take the suckers out and hose them down to get all of the mud that the kids tracked in. Simply put, I recommend rubber mats to anyone that has passangers that are anything like my niece and nephew :)

Many of these mats are custom-fit for your ride. This was a major plus because some of the mud stains could have ruined my interior, but the mats held on to the mud like David Tyree did for the Giants in the Super Bowl.

cargo liner

The gifts that paid off for me were these 3 mats: Lloyd Rubber Cargo Liners, Lloyd Mat Cargo Liners, and the Lloyd Invisible Cargo Liners. Thanks Dad.
