14 Funky Fly Fresh Accessories For Friday

SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM

It’s Aloha Day (R.I.P. IZ) at work today, and we were treated to our usual Free Breakfast Friday. But I have a bone to pick: Were this an authentic Aloha Day, the break room would have been filled with the sweet sweet smells of grilled Spam, sticky rice and ketchup, rather than the usual aroma of Hot Pockets and Activia. Oh well. In spite of this cultural faux pas, we still added a whopping 14 new accessories onto AutoAnything.com. Sneak a peak:

Rhino Rack Ski & Snowboard Rack

  • Feature: These roof ski & snowboard racks from Rhino Rack carry up to six pairs of skis or 4 snowboards.
  • Benefit: If you always drive around with your Burton, you’ll have at least some justification for continuing to wear that fleece jester cap, even though your friends and coworkers really know that you’re just a raging Phish-head.

Rhino Boat Loader

  • Feature: Rhino Racks boat loader automatically loads and unloads a boat onto your roof rack.
  • Benefit: Makes boat thievery a lot gentler on your hernia.

Rhino-Rack Side Boat Loader

Rhino-Rack Cargo Bag

  • Benefit: Strikes terror in your children after you threaten to stuff the next one who screams into the time-out roof cargo bag.

Softride Top Tube Bike Frame AdapterUnlike more common cosmetic enhancements, adding a top tube won’t clear up your wrinkles, inhibit you from showing emotion or drain your wallet. But, using one of these Softride bike rack accessories changes its look and functionality all for less than $30—no risks involved.

Wrockit Wrench Open-End Ratchet WrenchesOr, as Scooby-Doo would call them, Wrockit Wrench Ropen-Rend Ratchet Wrenches. These ingenious tools combine the rapid-tightening of a ratchet with the convenience of a wrench. A geneticist would call it a chimera.

Clingo Universal Hands Free PodiumThe difference that separates the Clingo hands free podium from most lecture podiums is that this one doesn’t tend to result in sweaty palms, cracking voices and a roomful of people being pictured in their underwear. But seriously, folks. These deluxe mobile electronics holders are the perfect addition to your assortment of desktop distractions.

Clingo Universal Hands Free Podium

Clingo Parabolic Sound SphereEven if geometry was never your strong point, you’re sure to appreciate how Clingo uses parabolas and spheres to create this stylish sound system. It’s both a natural amplifier for your iPhone, iPod or other portable MP3 player, and it’s a helmet in a pinch.

Clingo Universal Car Vent MountYour vents could be spewing out the coldest of air, but your new vent-mounted Clingo mobile electronics holder is still going to look hot in your ride.

Gorilla Net Cargo NetJust as Tarzan’s jungle canopy provides security for the creatures of the rainforest, the Gorilla Net Cargo Net provides security for the contents of your truck bed. The only way to keep your stuff more secure than with these cargo nets & tie-downs would be if you trained an actual gorilla to lay in your truck bed and hold everything down with her heft.

Tripledge Wiper BladesThese Tripledge wipers are so thorough, even Prince Akeem Joffer would be impressed.

Tripledge Wiper Blades

Tripledge Green Wiper BladesThese are the first windshield wipers deemed safe for septic tanks, plastic pipes and municipal water systems. We’re talking greener-then-Woody-Harrelson’s-cigarettes green, and that’s mighty green, baby. Thanks, Tripledge.

Armor All Ultra Flex Wiper Blades

Armor All Premium Wiper BladesJust like “extreme” and “supreme;” adding “premium” to a product name gives it the nebulous distinction of being better. But, these Armor All wiper blades are pretty premium—they leave a thin film of water-repellent goo on your windshield, so water beads up and wipes away easier.

Armor All Premium Wiper Blades

Armor All Ultra Flex Wiper BladesYou can juice up, shave your armpits, get a spray tan, apply a glistening sheen of posing oil and flex like Lou Ferrigno. But, it won’t clear your windshield like these travel accessories from Armor All. They’re curved like a banana, which keeps them pressed against your windshield for more powerful wipes.

AEM Replacement Air Intake FilterMom was right: generic-brand dextro is just as good as Robitussin in purple drank, and AEM replacement air intake filters are just as effective as K&N air filters in air intake systems.

Like a Rebate Cowboy

Rhinestone Cowboy

Sit yourself down, Glen Campbell. You won’t find a load of compromising on the road to AutoAnything’s horizon, but you will find a star-spangled rodeo of rebates and special sales. Giddy up on it:

INNO

INNO Discount

Right now, INNO (famed maker of roof rack gear, cargo boxes and hitch mount bike racks) is offering a duet of deals. First, all of their roof cargo boxes are $50 off. The savings are instant, so there’s no monkeying around with mail-in rebates—the price you see now is $50 less than what it was. Plus, they’re offering 10% off on all INNO Aero Light hitch mount bike racks. But, you have to act, like, now because this deal’s done on August 20, 2010.

Vizualogic

Vizualogic Free Game System

Vizualogic has done so much for road-tripping families already, what with their high-quality car monitors & DVD players giving everyone a reprieve from making nice with the chit-chat. But, they’ve going above and beyond the call of duty with their special promotion: a free all-in-one video game system when you purchase a Vizualogic Advantage headrest monitor or a Quantum overhead monitor. The thing is packed with 50 games (probably 8-bit arcade classics), so you’re sure to find something that’ll take your kids’ minds off asking you stuff. Act now, though, because this deal’s dead on August 31, 2010.

Westin

Westin Rebate

Though not quite as popular as a NYC dirty water tube steak, Westin tubular products are probably the most admired and most muscular tube bars out there (excluding San Diego’s own Brass Rail). So, when Westin announced their “get a little green back” rebate of $10 to $25 off select nerf bars and running boards, it’s like being told your grandmother’s going to buy you your first post-college suit and she’s not insisting on the pants being pleated. Win-win. For this deal, you’ve got a little time to procrastinate—it doesn’t end until 9/30/2010.

We’ve always got some deluxe deals a-brewing over at AutoAnything.com. So keep an eye open for the latest news here.

Truxedo B-LightTruXedo wanted to call these truck bed lights “A-Lights,” but the only celebrities who responded to the endorsement listing were Delta Burke, Rudy Ray Moore and Dave Coulier. Not to mention, these Truxedo lights are backed by a one year warranty.

Smittybilt & Bushwacker Jeep Accessories, Inno Racks, Street Scene Body Kits & More – An AutoAnything Weekly Update

Holy smokes!  If the smorgasbord of Griots Garage detailing supplies wasn’t enough for you, we’ve got a boat load of new products for you this week.  First up, we’ve added even more jeep accessories to our site, with new products from Smittybilt and Bushwacker.  We’d also like to welcome Rugged Ridge aboard!

Lifted Jeep

No, we can’t make your jeep look like the one in the picture… yet.  But we can offer you the jeep body armor you need to fight off rocks, trees, branches and medium-sized animals.  In fact, our jeep body kits will set your wrangler apart from the rest, giving it that tough exterior you’ve always wanted.

INNO Surfboard Rack

INNO Racks is a cool company.  Not only do they make roof rack products that support your outdoor life, but they have some of the coolest product designs.  I particularly like their surfboard rack, but their kayak racks and bike racks are equally neat.  In a few weeks, we’ll also be offering their new base racks, so check back later if you’re in the market.

Street Scene Body Kits

Street Scene is to body kits as kittehs are to lolz… I hated the SAT’s too, no more associative questions, I promise. But really, Street Scene has  got the hot fire when it comes to body kits.

We’ve also added some products that will help you in your everyday life; automotive tools, car vacuums and a gas powered blender.  Don’t say we never gave you nothin’…

Load Up Your Bikes and Hit the Road – An AutoAnything Weekly Update

The snow is melting, the cold weather subsiding and it’s starting to get nice outside again…what does all that mean? Spring is just around the corner! So if you’re a bike enthusiast of any sort, it’s about time you got it out of the garage, dusted it off and check the tire pressure before hitting the mountain, trail or road.

Over the last six months, we’ve been adding the hottest bike rack products from Thule and Yakima, from single bike roof mount racks to the very popular 4 bike hitch rack setups, so I thought it would be worth giving them a small shout out in this weeks AutoAnything update.

Roof Mount Bike Racks – To mount up a bike to your roof, you’ll need a base rack system that provides the proper mounting surface for the bike rack. This usually includes rack feet/towers and a pair of crossbars. If you’ve got a set of factory roof rails already, you may only need a set of cross bars to complete your base rack system. Either way, make sure you have the proper base rack setup to mount the following bike racks.

  • Yakima Raptor – This is Yakima’s entry-level upright bike rack. Upright means you don’t have to take any wheels off, so you can get right to business without turning any wrenches. Make of sturdy steel, utilizing ratcheting straps to secure the wheels, this bike rack offers solid value for your buck.
  • Yakima King Cobra – If you want the King of roof mount bike racks, look no further than the this Cobra. It’s an upright mount rack, so there’s no need to fuss around removing your front wheel before loading it up. This rack secures your bike by clamping down on the front wheel, making it easy to load and great for stabilizing bikes with 20″-29″ tires. Add a set of SKS locks and you’ve got the whole package; style, security and function.
  • Yakima Steelhead – This fork-mount bike rack is the king of roof mount fork-racks. It’s easy to load up your gear, upgradable security with SKS locks and it’ll glide through the air like a fish through water. The only catch to that it strictly mounts to Yakima’s round crossbars, so if you already have a base rack system that isn’t made by Yakima, you’ll want to look at the Raptor or King Cobra bike racks.

Hitch Mount Bike Racks – If you don’t want to mount up your bikes on your roof, then the next best option is a hitch bike rack. All you need is a trailer hitch with a 2″ (or a 1-1/4″) receiver tube and your set.

  • Thule Ridgeline – 4: The number of horseman in the apocalypse. Also, the number of bikes held by the Thule Ridgeline Hitch Rack (a mere coincidence…we think). This rack has some cool things to offer, like an integrated locking system and anti-sway cage that keeps your bikes from banging into each other.
  • Thule Parkway – Tow up to 4 bikes and still access your cargo with this super sturdy hitch bike rack. It’s got a fold down design that makes it easy to move stuff and it works with both 2″ and 1-1/4″ receiver tubes!
  • Thule Roadway – Do you and a buddy go biking together, or do you have a road warrior crew that never misses out on pounding the pavement? Either way, Thule’s Roadway hitch bike rack will haul your bikes with ease. Works with 2″ and 1-1/4″ receiver tubes and is available in three flavors; 2 bike, 4 bike and 5 bike carrier models.
  • Thule T2 – It doesn’t get any slicker than loading up your Cannondale on the Thule T2. The T2 has adjustable locking points, so it can securely clamp down on any bike, regardless of frame shape. It’s also expandable, holding up to four bikes on a single hitch.
  • Yakima BigHorn – The Bighorn offers big value at a low price. Switchblade clamps keep your bike from shifting around and a tilt-forward lever lets you get access your cargo area with out unmounting the bike rack.
  • Yakima DoubleDown – Like the Bighorn, the DoubleDown uses switchblade clamps to secure your bikes. The big difference here is the extra forward tilt that gives you better access to your cargo area and it comes in 2-, 4- and 5-bike models.
  • Yakima SwingDaddy – The creme de la creme of hitch mount bike racks. Tow up to 4 bikes where ever you go and when you need access to your trunk or hatch, swing this hitch bike rack out of the way and have total access to your cargo area. This completely emlininates bike sway too, so you don’t have to worry about dinging vehicle or scratching your bikes paint job.

And there you have it. Whether you’re a Yakima Bike Vigilante or the casual cruiser, we’ve got a rack that will carry your gear comfortably and safely.
