Rocket vs. Crotch Rocket vs. Golf Ball?

Richard Hammond narrates and races his Honda Firebird “motorbike” against a massive rocket-shaped firework and a golfer… a completely useless comparison, but still fun to watch.

Ken Block Hits the Salt Flats

Ken Block Bonneville Salt Flats

His 566 horsepower STi is pretty insane. With 590 ft-lbs of torque, his Impreza can sprint to 60MPH in 3 seconds flat. But that torque can be used for other things as well, like towing people on plastic trash cans…

Ken Block and his crew are at it again, but this time they are out setting some land speed records at the Bonneville Salt Flats using some less-than-traditional methods of transportation; trashcans, big wheels and plastic snow-sled from Wal-Mart. Good stuff, check out the mischief after the jump…

Epic E1pc Eletric Bike Ready for TTXGP Competition

The Most Powerful Rocket …errrr… Bike in the World – AutoAnything

Some mates from down under decided that motorcycles just weren’t fast enough. Maybe the power-to-weight ratio of their Yamaha FJ 1200 just wasn’t good enough for them. Maybe they’d never ridden the Viper-Engine-Powered Dodge Tomahawk. No matter what the reason, they knew that had to do something crazy. So in true Speed-Freak fashion, they (somehow) managed to source a Rolls Royce turbo jet engine that cranks out a massive 3,800 horsepower and strapped it to the back of the bike. This bike now holds the world record for being the most powerful bike ever built… speed tests are yet to be performed, probably because the bike would end up leaving the ground behind and take flight. If a bike can fly, is it still considered a bike? Probably want to talk to the world records keepers about that before attempting anything…
