The Flatmobile: The Lowest Street Legal Car – Presented by AutoAnything

A guy by the name of Perry Watkins is the brains behind this beast. He started with two Hillman Imps which were donated for the cause. A Hillman Imp is, as the name suggests, a rather small car to begin with, but after removing the roof and nearly a foot out of the mid-section, he had the base chassis carved to his liking. Perry did have to add about 17″ of length to the rear of the car to house the secret weapon: a home made jet engine!

After a whole lot more work, and probably a few beers, his creation came together to be not just the lowest street-legal car in the world, but a Batmobile look-a-like to boot! Check out these pictures below and make sure to stop by his site to scope the build process. Great work Perry!
